There have been several Dusky Woodswallows hawking around the hill in Quarries Park Clifton Hill since late last week. I’ve seen them very irregularly in this spot

a few times since the early 80s. They turn up nearly every year in nearby Yarra Bend Park.

Also on Sunday 25th September, an Olive-backed Oriole calling from riverside vegetation close to the freeway bridge over the Yarra, downstream of Fairfield Park boathouse.

Any other sightings of these birds in inner Melbourne this year?

Neville
