Hi,

Some sightings from Sydney metropolis.

18 Aug Thur Afternoon - A pair of Masked Lapwing with
2 young flightless chicks within a fenced off compound
in Pyrmont, corner of Union St and Steward St. This
compound is also exactly next to Star City Casino.
This is just stone's throw away from Sydney's highly
touristic Darling Harbour. It was a wonderful 3 meters
view of the chicks thru the fence. One parent was
vocal foraging nearby while the other parent was
quietly guarding the chicks underneath it.

19 Aug Fri Afternoon - A lone Caspian Tern roosting at
Penrhyn Estuary. Others are small numbers of
Bar-tailed Godwits and Double-banded Plovers(in
breeding plumage).

Cheers,
Tun-Pin Ong
St Leonards
