Could it have been Broome, Bruce? We have many artificial platforms constructed here in town as an alternative to them nesting on telephone and power line poles. The artificial platforms are provided mostly by Western Power as an alternative (and a good one!) to trying to stop the birds breeding altogether. There are several nests that have just produced young this year, and the babies have mostly finished fledging. Regards, Chris Broome, WA > After all I saw Ospreys nesting on an artificial platform in the middle of a > seaside town, up north somewhere, I can't remember where. -------------------------------------------- Birding-Aus is now on the Web at www.birding-aus.org -------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe from this mailing list, send the message 'unsubscribe birding-aus' (no quotes, no Subject line) to |
