My experience is that is varies enormously in the detail displayed. I can see my house in Brisbane and enough detail to see every swimming pool in the neighbourhood. However I can't make out much detail in the south west of France or in the interior. It's a toy really. It also downloads a lot of data as you run it - I hit 30 Meg in a quick look at about 6 places. That will matter if you're on a 256 Meg per month plan.
