Hi All,
 
I remember an excellent presentation by Fiona Frazer, when I was based in Darwin. Apparently partridge pigeons Geophaps smithii can travel over fairly long distances (from memory, up to 10's of kilometres) - particularly to waterholes in the dry season - and even though they are capable of flight, they walk.
Not quite the wildebeeste of the Serengeti, but interesting nonetheless!
