About two weeks ago I travelled to Yarrie Lake which lies about 20 Kms west of Narrabri NSW. By the roadside close to the lake a group of four Superb Parrots flew into a nearby tree having been disturbed by traffic.
Having lived in the district during the eighties I had never seen these visitors to the area.
About 100 metres away there was a feeding flock of 22 Red-winged Parrots. Other nice species around the lake included a pair of Glossy Black Cockatoos and two Black-tailed Native Hens.
