SWAMPS AND RED-WHISKERED BULBULS

Further to Bruce's message, Bulbuls are now very common along the banks of
the Nepean River in Penrith to the west of Sydney. Tench Reserve along the
riverside contains a lot of mulberry trees along with lantana on the river
banks (although this is gradually being removed). 

When the mulberries are in fruit around September, I have seen as many as 50
Red-whiskered Bulbuls eating the fruit, however smaller numbers may be seen
all year round, and I even get them in my garden about 2 miles from the
river from time to time.
