Thanks for your reply. I would have liked a bit more time to do a proper bird tour of Singapore as their appeared to be a few good spots to go as long as you could get there, so a guide would have been a good option with limited time.
 
Thanks for the correction to Black-naped Oriole, they look similar in my book and I misread the distribution. There was however , no mistaking the Pied Pigeons and Black-winged Starlings so whether they had been escapees from the Bird Park or just hanging around there I don't know. We didn't see any in captivity there.
