This count, conducted by Andrew Silcocks and I on Thursday 12th, was exceptionally good as we saw 69 species, 36 of which were wetland dependant or raptors. Of most interest were single Australian Bittern, Little Eagle, Spotless Crake, Buff-banded Rail and Marsh Sandpiper. Also of note were Pied Cormorant, Cattle Egret, 10 Red-kneed Dotterels, 134 Spotted Turtle-Doves, 54 Crested Pigeons, a Cockatiel (presumably an escapee), 9 Red-rumped Parrots, 5 Flame Robins, Golden Whistler, 4 Tree Sparrows & 5 Silvereyes.
