Hi Judith and all,
Yes, they are indeed very beautiful. And for anyone in NSW who wants
to get involved in saving them, there is another tree planting
weekend coming up in the Capertee Valley on 7-8 May. As there have
been a number of sightings recently in the valley, volunteers will
have a fair chance of seeing the bird itself during that weekend. To
register, contact the co-ordinator David Geering
or freecall 1800 621056.
Cheers
Carol

Saw a Regent Honeyeater on video a couple of evenings back. What an
amazingly beautiful bird. For everyone who's never seen one - like
me - the guide books give NO CLUE as to how spectacularly gorgeous
this bird is. Try to get a video. You must see it to believe it!
Now I have a tremendous thirst to see one in life.
Cheers for all those in the field trying to save this natural marvel.
