Hi Y'all
A bit delayed but still in time for the weekend for Brisbane birders....
Manly Wader Roost, South Moreton Bay - Wed 26.1 - Robert D spotted a
Grey Plover among the usual residents. Unusual at this location? First
time I've recorded one there in this lifetime (since 2000) Possibly
'brought in' by the high winds offshore at the time. I'd imagine the sea
beaches on the islands would be a bit rough.
Minnippi Parklands, Brisbane southern suburbs - same day, 100+
White-throated Needletails circling, heading generally north-east, no
storm front, cloudy, slight wind, (altho strong sea breezes off coast),
rain forecast, cool. (Usual species present, appears noxious weed may be
under control as appears to have reduced over last fortnight)
North Wynnum - Fuller oval, wetlands well flooded - Wandering
Whistle-ducks, Magpie Geese and Glossy Ibis all present.
