Tree Martins and Tree Sparrows

G'day all

I'm being totally distracted at work (agricultural research labs) this afternoon by a large flock of Tree Martins - probably 150-200 alternately roosting on the laboratory roof and wheeling over the gardens.  There are a few Welcome Swallows among them but no Fairy Martins that I can pick out.  Quite a sight.  This flocking here in Jan-Feb is now a regular occurrence.

Memo to the twitchathon people who are, no doubt, planning their 2005 campaigns.  Tree Sparrows are common in the grounds of the Airport Motor-Inn, Ardlie Street, Atwood (near Melbourne Airport).

Cheers
