"Got quite close to the tattlers and observed all had a light
rufous/tan colouration to ends of primaries and tail
feathers, and similair colouration on lower rump. Can find no refernce to this
in field guides, all say uniform grey colour (though "darker than
Grey-tailed").

Russ, the birds are in similar condition to the ones we had at
Hasting's Point last weekend. This is merely wear & are about to moult
these feathers. Cheers - Paul W.
