Good news from Brooms Head, NSW north coast.  4 young Little Terns have reached the flying stage at a site where nesting has been hampered in the past by trail bikes, walkers, horses and foxes.  Last year the Pied Oysertercatcher pair raised a young.  The previous year Fox tracks were found leading to the empty nest where two eggs had been observed earlier.

The fox baiting is working and although small numbers of birds are involved the future is looking good for this site, which may attract greater numbers of Little Terns in the future.

Regards

Greg
