Hi Peter,
 
The best place to see the Mangrove Honeyeater in New South Wales is at Yamba (Dart and Hickey Islands etc.) and Iluka (Saltwater Inlet), both on the Clarence River.  I did, however, record the species at South Tweed Heads on 3, 4 and 11 November 1994.  One bird was carrying nesting material.  The site was near the old tick gates and west or north-west of Ukerabagh Island on the old highway.
