Hello Mike,Two small groups of W/T Needletails (each of 4 /6 birds) over St. Ives, 16kms NW of Sydney CBD. The first on 8/12/04 , the second on 17/12/04 . Both moved North under conditions of low atmospheric pressures which seem to provide the right combination for the rise of insects to higher elevations above the treetops , which eminently suit the swift's feeding style. However, similar conditions prevailing today, here , have not produced a single sighting.
