A little late (sorry) but perhaps useful for those collecting this
info. On Tues 30/11 and Wed 1/12 at Smiths Lake, NSW, around vicinity of
UNSW Field Station ( 32deg 24min S, 152deg 28.5minE) flocks of
White-throated Needletails were observed by D. Hair and myself. Flock size
varied from 20 at times to c.80. Variously flying at moderately high to
very high altitudes, but also very low over the lake early (8AM) on 1/12.
Possibly the same flock cruising through the area which later disappeared
after the front came through. Small numbers of Fork-tailed Swifts observed
in the flocks (up to 5) at times on both days. Cheers.
