Hi,
I recently drove up to the Capertee Valley from Canberra trying to find Superb Parrot, Plum-headed Finch and Painted Honeyeater. I went via Cowra and found about 20 Superb Parrots in trees beside the Boorowa to Cowra road (about 50 kms from Cowra) and found another two on the road from Cowra to Bathurst. This was my only tick of the trip because I dipped on Plum-headed Finch and Painted Honeyeater in the Capertee Valley. I did manage to hear a Painted Honeyeater but I couldn't find it. However there were lots of other birds around in the valley including Jacky Winter, White-winged Triller, Diamond Firetail, Double-barred Finch, Turquoise Parrot, Rufous Songlark and White-browed Woodswallow.
Nick
