Call me biased, but nothing makes the ears ring like a male rufous scrub bird

This has now prompted me to question what is the loudest bird in
Australia?

When in your fully fenced echoey backyard, Magpie Lark (Lark? Huh!).
Head-piercingly shockingly staggeringly drop dead loud. Maybe not in dBs
but certainly in nails-down-the-blackboard right-in-your-ear ness.

When roosting in the gum tree above your home and flying to and fro, SC
Cockatoo. Loud enough to shrivel your gonads! Fight or flight? Dunno if
that works for Lady Birders!
