Okay, Bob. I know that there's a (Torresian) crows' nest-site on the ridge on the north side of Highcrest. I have been within ten feet of this group of crows, as they come to ground quite often in the Highcrest strath.
Here where I work in Clayfield (Brisbane), I also live very close to a large community of Torresian crows. And having just come from three weeks in Sydney once again, I do believe the different call of the Australian Raven is deeply embedded in my hearing!
Tomorrow I'll be at Highcrest. Will examine all corvids exactingly over the next few days, both aurally and according to my books and your account of behaviour/visuals - and I'll report back Wednesday-ish.
