I've just returned from a 4 month trip up to North and western Qld, lots of
photos etc. I plan on putting a few trip reports up on birding aus in the
next couple of weeks.
In the meantime, while down on the central coast (of NSW, between Newcastle
and Sydney) today I dropped into Budgewoi to look for the Swift Parrots
that were reported by Alan Morris a week or two ago. They are still present
along Buff Point Rd in flowering eucalypts. I estimated about 30 birds at
33 14 23.6, 151 32 2.9. Near the intersection with Nacooma Ave (33 14 9.6,
151 32 2.9) there were a further 10. They were pretty easy to find so I
suspect that there are more around.
