Hi Robert,
I have been using the Olympus C740 (only
3.2 mega pixels compared with the dearer models 4 mega pixels). However I have
the TCON-17 teleconverter and this then gives the equivalent of 17 * zoom or
around a 600mm lens on a 35mm camera, and without loss of light.
This longer lens does require a monopod to
keep it steady, but I find the pictures are suitable for record purposes, and
as Chris says, you do get the odd really good picture.
All the pictures on my site as under were
taken with this combination (remembering that these pictures are .jpg photos optimized
to give the most compact size for uploading, the originals on my desktop are
much better).
