 I believe that cotton farming was one of the uses planned for the Ord water
 when the dam was first built but it didn't happen for some reason or other.
 There was even an 8 cent stamp put out in the early seventies or late
 sixties in the 'National Development' series depicting cotton growing in
the
 Ord area.

has very showy yellow flowers in summer (christmas time), but I dont =
