G'day Bird Lovers
I'm off to Broome shortly and, naturally, will be wanting the best guide
available for identifying waders. I currently use the Michael Moorecombe
Field Guide, which is okay for identifying land/bush birds and has many
features which I find both useful and interesting. However, I feel that it's
a little lacking for the purposes of identifying waders accurately.
Therefore, I'd appreciate the help of all you wader experts in ascertaining
the best Field Guide for our web-footed friends.
I'd like to know what your resoning is behind your choices, rather than just
"so-and-so's guide is the best", as we each use different ways of comparing
birds in the field to images in field guides. In this way I hope to build a
picture of which guide is likely to be the most useful for me.
