Hi Gary
Try joining Birds Australia. You'll receive the excellent quarterly
"Wingspan" and you'll also be part of the national peak body regarding all
things birds and birding. You'll also have the opportunity to connect with
various conservation programs etc.. The magazine has nice photography and
good articles which will certainly interest you.
"Emu", published for Birds Australia through the CSIRO, is excellent if
you're into staying up to date with birds on a more technical level. This is
a fully refereed journal providing papers submitted by both amateur and
professional scientists regarding birds. Pretty short on colour photographs
(it's all black & white), but fascinating reading. "Corella" is another
good one of this type, published by the Australian Bird Study Association.

Hope this helps.

As a reasonably new ' kid on the block ' in birdwatching and photographing,
can members advise me of the name of an Australian birding magazine that is
the best to subscribe to?
Would appreciate opinions-and details of how I subscribe to it.
Thanks
