Hi all,
For those that believe they may have seen the bird might I suggest reviewing
the following excellent photographs of Baer's Pochard?

For males note the greenish tinged black head and neck. A rich dark-chestnut
breast also sharply contrasts with a white belly and flanks. In breeding males
the white appears to be so extensive that typically some white extends just far
enough up the flanks to reach the edge of the closed wing. Note the barred
appearance of the white on the flanks rather than a more uniform edge typical
of Hardheads. Also note that the chestnut brown of the flanks is usually a
shade or two lighter than that of the breast. This in combination with the
white belly and lower flanks results in the breast being 'cut off' from the
belly and flanks with a vertical line when the bird is on the water. Also note
(as pointed out by Mike Carter) that males have a rather narrow pale blue grey
tip or band to the bill (behind the black 'nail' at the bill tip). Hardheads
typically show a much broader and more clearly defined blue-grey 'band' towards
the bill tip.

I hope this of some help.
And just repeating what Chris Lester said... we remain keen to see any
photographs of the claimed bird.
