The magpies that own Marrickville railway station are building their nest
as of this morning in the tree at the Sydenham end of the waiting shed on
the western side of the station. Last year they nested in the steel girder
over the line near the steps. Nesting on steel must have been too cold to
be repeated this year.
I really admired their clever flying in getting the nesting sticks up and
over the power lines and then into the tree.
