There does seem to be a trend towards early nesting this year. Around my
place the Aussie Ravens and Magpies have been collecting wood for the last
week and I don't think its for their heaters even though its still cold.
Generally the regular early-birds have been the pardalotes and thornbills.

The resident Brown-headed Honeyeaters around our place have started pulling
hair out of our horses, presumably for nesting material. They do this every
year but seem to be a bit early this year as the horses haven't started
moulting yet.
