Mike,

I saw an Osprey hunting on the Nepean at Penrith just prior to Christmas about 8am one day while working on a riverbank regen site below the weir. I was shocked but on consideration I have seen many birds on this stretch of river in the last several months that makes me think that the state of the Hawkesbury further down might be a contributing factor to their pushing further up. Would like to hear from others in the area on this.

For the record I have also regularly seen Sea Eagles in this same area - 3 on the same morning as the Osprey! - as well as Black-shouldered Kites, Kestrels, Brown Goshawks
