Hello Bill,Many hardware stores sell devices which are a strap and a number of bits to make clamps for photo frames. these straps can be tightened with a screw device. If you bought one of these and attached a block with a suitable ( I think its a one quarter inch) threaded hole I think the strap would hold the scope firmly and the block would attach to the tripod. A bit rough but it may work for a few dollars outlay.
