Here's some sites and sightings, just the highlights from my recent round-trip, Brisbane to Katoomba via Warrick, Uralla, Singleton, Capertee, and back to Brisbane via Colo, Gloucester, Coffs, Grafton, Kyogle, and the 'border gate'...

All sightings here are given in order of the sighting/journey. A maximum of one hour was spent in each place; mostly less. Great gaps in geography reflect either weather or the travelling schedule. The weather was generally as follows: late summer north of the border; mid-to-late autumn in all NSW highland areas; still shocking drought conditions in Capertee Valley; then, early autumn and wet throughout the return journey, with much water on the ground and in all dams and watercourses especially around Gloucester and from the Clarence River catchment to the Border Range. Combined high altitude and southerly latitude produced least birds. All species in bold at first mention; often they re-appeared later in my trip, but I've really only included repeat sightings if they held special interest.
