"Congo" is probably the worst film I've come across in this regard. Not only
to they have
the classic Kookaburra call, it also had a veritable who's who of the Australia
bush!
I couldn't help but laugh, as it destroyed any illusion of the Congo for me.

In "Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring", I think there is an
Australian Magpie
calling when Sam and Frodo are walking through the fields outside of Hobbiton
(near the
scarecrow.) Then in "LOTR: The Return of the King", there appears to be an
Australian Magpie
caught in Shelob's web.
Are Australian Magpies found in New Zealand?

Paul Taylor.
