Re query on where Mapleton Forest is..........

It is approx 15 - 20 kilometres west of Nambour by road, and Nambour is approx 100 kilometres north of Brisbane on the Bruce Highway.

Don't know how high above sea level - not very high, perhaps a couple of hundred metres? - but enough that it can be in cloud and mist when Nambour is very clear.
