I visited Cattai Creek at Newmans Road, near the Hawkesbury River, on Monday 12th. On the road opposite Newmans, past the Alpaca Farm, I followed the creek to where it opens up to a lovely waterway. A heron type bird flew past, and I managed to get 3 pictures as it went past. I thought it could be a Bittern, or at worst a Mangrove Heron -- The pictures confirmed a Black Bittern. It landed in the thickets near the creek, but I could not find it again. Regards, Nevil Lazarus <<attachment: winmail.dat>> |
