Jade et al,
What Morcombe's name implies is that Irrediparra is a subgenus of Metopidius
(the monotypic genus of Metopidius indicus,Bronze-winged Jacana. I am aware
of no published information that justifies this lumping of Irrediparra. And
as far as I am concerned Morcombe's view can be ignored.
The Handbook of Birds of the World Vol.3,p.290 states:"Genus occasionally
lumped with Microparra and Actophilornis in Metopidius, or alternatively
with Actophilornis and Metopidius in Jacana, but neither proposal is
accepted widely."
