For local birders (Melbourne) and possible visitors to the Western Treatment Plant I thought it might be helpful to report that:
1. The Freckled Duck numbers are climbing back up again in the main lagoon just north of the birders' access gate from Beach Road (near the boat ramp) - 20 or so on Sunday 23/11. (I saw none on my previous visit 2 weeks ago.)
2. Pacific Golden Plover (4) were seen for the first time this season (by me at least) in their usual roosting site at Kirk Point.
