Last Thursday during a walk at Dee Why's Wildlife refuge (northern beaches of Sydney), few birds were visible, despite lots of them chirping coming from the deep bush.

Suddenly I saw the strangest bird  perched on a tall reed, calling loudly and being answered by another hidden bird.  It was small bird, about a robin size, white all over, with the exception of a light yellow ²crew-cut² head covering, and a short black beak.  The reeds were part of the vegetation surrounding the Dee Why Lagoon. The bird was seen at the end near the Surf Club.

At first I thought it may have been an n immature Little Grassbird,  Clamorous reed Warbler,  a red-browed Finch, or Golden Cisticola but my description doesn¹t fit any of those.

Perhaps it could be an albino or leucitic bird, most likely a Golden Cisticola?

Any suggestions?
