"Magpie-lark". Because there was no need for the
"Australian" to add uneccesarry syllables to the name, as no other
bird elsewhere is called "something Magpie-lark".

very useful diet sheet. Just one point for non-South Australians
- 'Murray Magpies' are really what Victorians call Mudlarks. The
ignorant folk in NSW call them Peewees, and the birdbooks name them
'Australian Magpie-larks.' (actually according to the DNA-smiths they are
aberrant monarch-flycatchers.) Anthea Fleming who still calls the
Grey Fantail 'Cranky Fan'.
