Hi Netters,
Drove to the Launceston daffodil exhibition and after that drove north
along the West Tamar Road for 11km to
the Wetlands Walk where there is a National Park office and shop. There is an
excellent wooden walkway which heads east over wetlands and tidal creeks to a
wharf alongside the main part of the River Tamar. It is approx 2km return with
picnic tables near the wharf. I will start checking the area for possible
waders next week. Near the office there were Black Swans with four cygnets and
a Little Grassbird.
On the way back home along a back road from Yorktown on the
River Tamar a Pallid Cuckoo was sitting on a power wire and a Black Swan on a
nest in a pond.
All the Best
