Hi Netters,
At times you can be glad you are driving at 95kmh in a 110kmh zone. On
the way to Mole Creek Caves I was
driving between Devonport and Deloraine when my sister, Pauline, saw a
Sea-Eagle over the tree tops. Next it dives between two big gum trees and takes
a dead possum off the road and just managed to fly into the next lane as I
drove over the spot. Would have been really bad for the bird and us if we had collided.
At Mole Creek we checked out the King Solomon Cave which was
stunning in its beauty. Then onto Marakoopa Cave and while
having our picnic lunch, three pair of Scarlet Robins were feeding under the
shrubs. On the way out two Beautiful Firetails took off from the side of the
road.
Over the years I have visited Tasmania the Tas
Native Hen seems to be more prolific and when I read in a local cook book the
old story that it is cooked the same as a cockatoo, nailed to a board with the
blue metal in the pot, no wonder there are more of them.
All the Best
