Further to my previous posting, I've just read Wendy Moore's message and I
think that the huge increase in numbers of Sulphur-crested Cockatoos in
coastal regions has made their feathers a much more accessible and abundant
item for Satin Bowerbirds in recent years. Remember too that many feathers
would come from natural moult rather than dead birds.
