I am a wildlife carer and I Keep a record of all the birds I rescue, the
treatment (on most), the area I pick them up from and their fate.
I find all that interesting for my records, I have had quite a lot of birds
in nearly 5 years of being a carer, well over 1,000 birds, I also rescue
Echidnas, Possums, Gliders, Kangaroos and Wallabies, oh and my daughter (a
wildlife carer also) rescued a Common Wombat 2 weeks ago, which was
wondering around suburbia? Which was really strange, so we think someone may
have raised it unlicensed and that is illegal. The wombat either escaped or
was dumped, it was around the 30-40kg. We got it out on another carers
property 100acres, and where there are wombats and some unused burrows and
released it.
