Hi Peter and Syd

No need for cabling. The camera used in the Lower Hunter Shorebird
monitoring is high quality industrial camera, remotely mounted in a weather
proof housing with bird deterrents mounted.

This ties into a CDMA modem and a video server for the dial up capability,
which menas that the device can be accessed via computer a in remote
locations. In this case, the camera was c. 15km from the dial up computer.
Obviously there may be problems with this if CDMA reception is unavailable.

The whole system runs in a 12V DC solar array connected to deep cycle marine
batteries. Solar budget will supply power up to 3 days without sun.

Regards

Peter
