Checking out the notices on the EPBC act I found a notice for Towra Nature Reserve, Botany Bay. It states that a proposed action is to be achieved by sourcing sand from three near by areas, Spit Island, Towra Spit and Carters Island Shoal. The proposal states that the action is to mitigate the adverse impacts of accelerated foreshore recession (loss of sand) within Towra Nature Reserve. Does anyone on Birding Aus know anything about this proposal and what impacts, if any it might have on the waders and Little Terns that use this reserve.
