Dean et al, I have been sitting in a lantana patch and seen and heard an Eastern Whipbird give the whole call. There were other birds present but I am confident that the three parts to the call came from the one bird on more than one occasion. It was out of the breeding season so that may account for the behaviour. This bird and others were also observed to make parts of the call without any dueting taking place. I did not shoot and/or sex any of the birds. Regards, Alan Gillanders Alan's Wildlife Tours On the beautiful Atherton Tablelands 145* 33' 25"E 17* 16' 40"S (07) 4095 3784 |
