G'day reed hers,

Early am today 8 Straw-necked Ibis out the front of the Hastings, Mullet Street, Marina. Plus my little love "sugar" was wandering around with them.

"Sugar" is a spoonbill I helped out recently.

Yep Elizabeth Shaw and Unca Tones ....... a spoonbill named sugar helped thee medicine go down.

We usually get many more Straw-necked Ibis around the Bass Coast  (Vic), especially Phillip Island at this time of year.  this year is no exception with S-Necked outnumbering Whites by about 20/1 in most paddocks.  Don't bother to count them as they are usually spread out in almost every suitable paddock in the district and only notice them out of the corner of my eye as I am travelling at a safe speed on the roads.  There's too much traffic on the local roads to get too carried away with birdwatching while you're driving!

P.S. JAG, It might have been raining over on the Mornington Peninsula, but Phillip Island (or Cowes) missed out  completely - again! (For those who don't know Phillip Island straddles the mouth of Western Port - the Mornington Penisula is the western side of Western Port.)
