I was at Eden mid-January this year and I saw a Square-tailed Kite, also gliding low over the trees, at the camp ground where I was staying.
 
Checking the distribution in Slater, I didn't think it was unusual to find Square-tailed Kites on the south coast of NSW in summer, so I hadn't reported it before.
