Forgot to mention, about 200 White-throated Needletails passed through here
on Tuesday, 4th February. (27,34,24 S, 152,08,20 E).
On Friday, Grey Goshawk in a tree, pretty close but we scoped him anyway,
making eight raptor spp this week. Also, Horsfield's Bronze-cuckoo being fed
by a White-throated Gerygone.
Plum-headed Finches are still coming in numbers to the birdbath, competing
not only with the other usual finch and honeyeater spp but also this-morning
(Sunday) with an Eastern Whipbird, Rufous Whistler and White-browed
Scrubwren - all three inveterate bathers.
A Royal and a Yellow-billed Spoonbill are both sweeping the shallow creek at
the moment, each with a slightly different technique, presumably each
reaping a slightly different harvest.
