I saw a pair of Wedge Tailed Eagles attending a
nest last summer quite nearby, so they are definitely in the area. The
nest was in a tree on top of a ridge and was observed from a houseboat on the
Hawkesbury. No evidence of eggs/chicks, but they roosted near the nest one
night and the next morning about an hour after dawn, I had the wonderful
experience of watching 2 wedgies in a tree, two sea-eagles fishing, and a
Whistling kite flying by - all at the same time. The previous evening
there had been a peregrine on a nearby rock. I was
raptorous.
