We have had a Superb Lyrebird visiting our garden (the term is used rather loosely as we have a quite bushy block) in Helensburgh, south of the Royal NP Sydney over the past few days, it's either an immature or female. They are commonly seen down by the station which is on the edge of the park and rainforesty and you will hear them when you get off the train in winter. First time I have seen one here in about 7 years living here, it seemes quite fearless. It is probably about 500m as the bird flies across a few streets and many houses from where they are commonly seen by the station. regards, Chris Ross Birding-Aus is on the Web at www.shc.melb.catholic.edu.au/home/birding/index.html To unsubscribe from this mailing list, send the message "unsubscribe birding-aus" (no quotes, no Subject line) to |
